If a trip into another country stands in a queue, Swiss citizens often need a visa. With almost all countries beyond the EU these visas are required for tourists as well as for business travellers. For the application of a visa one needs always at least one, often two visa photos. Depending on the country the demands and dimensions of these photos differ. However, the both most common dimensions for visa photos are:
- the European standard size of 35 mm × 45 mm
(or 3,5 cm × 4,5 cm) and - the US-american format of 2 × 2 inches or 50 × 50 mm
(5 × 5 cm).
