The requirements for a biometric passport photo differ from those of a regular. Biometric passports are used for passports and identity cards, but not for e.g. driving licences.
Following demands are made on the format of the passport image
- The size of the image must amount to 1980 x 1440 pixels (height x width)
- The eye distance (pupil to pupil) must be between 15 and 20 percent of the screen width;
- The eyes must be in the range of 50-70% of the image height, measured from the bottom of the image.
